Two letters on 7 May, "Donald Trump" and "Trumpanomics", left out some very important information on how Trump handled COVID-19. Who initiated Operation Warp Speed in 2020 to develop a vaccine against COVID and got it completed in about 8 months, versus the normal 5 years, by waiving lots of federal regulatory roadblocks? Trump. Who handed Joe Biden 3 COVID vaccines when Biden took office? Trump. Who got one of the very first vaccine shots? Biden.
Here are the COVID death stats by year. 2020 (Trump): 384,536. 2021 (Biden for 49 of 52 weeks): 462,193. 2022 (Biden): 244,986. Source: Statista, 8 May 23 as reported by CDC. Trump handed Biden 3 vaccines on a silver platter, and Biden still had more deaths in his first year than did Trump with no vaccines. Everything Biden touches blows up into a disaster. He and his administration are totally incompetent.
