Tai Chi has grown in popularity throughout the world as science continues to validate centuries old claims that it benefits health, well-being and longevity. Typified by slow, focused, gentle movements; tai chi builds strength using the body’s own weight and reduces stress with deep, easy breathing. Tai Chi is good for our memory too because the moves are different than we are used to and are performed in a sequence that requires memorization.

Tai Chi is also good for us because it is FUN! In each beginning class, you will join other people who are new to Tai Chi. We begin with some simple warm up moves, then five ancient exercises that benefit the internal organs of the body. Most of the class is spent learning and practicing the Tai Chi movements. People sometimes find it challenging to remember the moves or the sequence, but hey, that’s why you come to class. In just a few weeks, you will be experiencing the relaxation and flow of this wonderful art. No previous experience is necessary.

Classes are held at the SaddleBrooke One fitness center with a suggested donation of $10. Our beginning class goes from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays.
