Baby quail season has begun in Arizona, bringing hundreds of orphaned chicks to the Tucson Wildlife Center for care and rehabilitation. Wildlife officials say warmer spring temperatures caused the birds to hatch earlier than usual this year, prompting an early start to one of the center’s busiest rescue seasons.
