Each year, the MountainView Lady Putters raise money to donate to aid in the support of the San Manuel School K-12 (the Mighty Miners) special project and/or education fund to assist with the teacher’s classroom needs. This past year, the putters raised over $2,000 for the purchase of Pre-K graduation caps and gown and the additional to the education fund.
In September, the committee members and president Jean Kraus were taken on a tour by Assistant Principal Amber Walden. Impressed by the school facility, the staff and the students and the teaching principals they instill in each student. An invite was extended to Amber as the Lady Putters January luncheon speaker. She shared the current living conditions in San Manuel, a once thriving mining community, the successes of the number of graduating students moving on to bigger careers or giving back to their own community.
Miners Pride is a school spirit initiative at San Manuel part of Mammoth-San Manuel Unified School District. The program aims to encourage students to take pride in their school and be positive role models for the community. The community benefits also from the Food Bank, Kid’s Closet and Scholarship programs which SaddleBrooke has a major role. Thanks for all you do to help the betterment of these students and their families. GO PUTTERS!!
