Damien Leonard, a Top 25 shooting guard in the high school class of 2011, is scheduled to visit Arizona next weekend, according to gogamecocks.com, a website of The State in Columbia, S.C.
Formerly considered a likely Clemson pickup before Oliver Purnell left, Leonard appears to be opening it back up. He visited South Carolina on Thursday, will come to Arizona next week and check out Oklahoma State on June 3.
He is also considering offers from Kansas, Kentucky, Texas, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida State and Virginia, according to gogamecocks.com.
Rivals.com has him rated No. 14, while Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy called him one of the 2011's more exciting prospects after a Las Vegas event last summer.

UA is already considering point guards Nick Johnson and Jahii Carson for the class of 2011 and is tight on scholarships, but Leonard's talent is such that the Wildcats have to see if he's interested.
UA has no scholarships remaining on paper for the class of 2011 but that is subject to change with roster and recruiting fluctuations.

No surprise here: North Carolina and now Kentucky are showing interest in Kadeem Jack. North Carolina lost the Wear twins while Kentucky didn't get all the five-star talent it was aiming for, so it suddenly has room, too.
This would indicate that Jack was indeed holding out for other offers when he decided to attend South Kent last week. Sounds like he doesn't need to play for South Kent now.

Another Sean Miller recruit is leaving for the NBA early: Jordan Crawford of Xavier. Derrick Brown did so last season and stuck with the Charlotte Bobcat as a second-round pick.

Larry Scott confirmed that he's had talks with Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe about an expanded alliance between the two leagues, the Los Angeles Times reported.
With the time zone differences, a shared Big 12/Pac-10 Network could make up for a lot of compelling doubleheaders even if the leagues stay totally separate. You could have Kansas and K-State at 7 p.m. CT/5 p.m. PT and then UCLA-USC at 9 p.m. CT/7 p.m. MT. or even UA-ASU at 9 p.m. CT/8 p.m. MT.
