WGC-Accenture Match Play officials have vowed to increase staffing and add shuttle buses for the rest of the week after golf fans complained that it took as long as an hour to reach The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain from the public parking lots.
In addition, any fan who presents a Wednesday ticket will gain free access to Sunday's semifinals and championship match, said Gerald Goodman, the tournament's first-year director.
Sunny weather and Tiger Woods' fan-friendly 10:35 a.m. tee time drew major crowds to the Ritz for the first round. Parking was scarce, however, and many fans had to wait for shuttles to the course.Â
Goodman praised fan turnaround in a news release, and said that a positive experience is "our No. 1 prioirity, and we have taken measure to address the parking and traffic issues experienced today."
