Diane Roggenthen netted two first-half goals to give the Catalina High School girls soccer team a 2-1 victory over visiting Pueblo in a non-region game Friday night.
In the first 10 minutes, both teams had already tallied a goal.
Roggenthen, a senior midfielder, scored in the second minute, only to have Pueblo answer in the 10th minute.
"We were able to quickly score. We came back and the girls performed well," said Catalina coach Bryck Guibor.
Although Pueblo had the ball in Catalina territory for much of the first half, the Trojans took the lead for good in the 34th minute on Roggenthen's second goal.
"We defended our area much better and were able to push them back. Our seniors were imperative in that regard," Guibor said.

Roggenthen believed it "was one of the best games we've played this year."
The second half started out much the same way as the first with Pueblo controlling the ball in Catalina territory but failing to capitalize.
"We've had a lot of turnover but the girls have kept great attitudes and we just talked about winning the games we think we can win," Catalina assistant coach Richard San Jose said. "This was one of those games.
"We're a team in rebuilding and we needed something positive to happen for us and we stuck together. We made some adjustments at halftime, and the girls came out and executed."
Guibor was already looking ahead to next week.
"We still have to play Rio Rico and Santa Rita and if we win those, we'll make it into the regional playoffs, and we're hoping to get into the state playoffs," Guibor said.
