No. 1 Arizona State is bound for Oklahoma City after the top-ranked Sun Devils defeated the 16th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies 4-2 Friday night in the Tempe super regional.
ASU's Kaylyn Castillo hit a two-run home run over the center field wall in the top of the first inning. It was Castillo's ninth homer and second during postseason play.
Freshman pitcher Dallas Escobedo held the Aggies scoreless for six innings. Escobedo struck out nine and improved to 32-3.
ASU coach Clint Myers has led the Sun Devils to five Women's College World Series appearances in his six years at ASU.
Sam Parlich and Alix Johnson drove in the other two runs for the Sun Devils (55-6) in the fifth inning.
In the sixth inning, Texas A&M (44-17) got a two-run homer from sophomore Meagan May.

Stanford eliminated
No. 15 seed Stanford lost 10-0 and 1-0 to No. 2 seed Alabama and was eliminated from the super regional in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Cardinal finished the year 42-17, and the Crimson Tide moved on with a 51-9 record.
Stanford's Teagan Gerhart threw a no-hitter through the first 4.1 innings of the second game.
Junior shortstop Ashley Hansen, one of three finalists for national Player of the Year, finished the year with the highest single-season batting average (.495) in Stanford history. She also set the school's single-season record for hits with 95.

• Florida 9, Oregon 1: In Gainesville, Fla., Brittany Schutte hit two home runs in the super regional opener, and the Ducks lost by run rule for only the second time this season.
