Grijalva speaks at anti-detention center protest
A week after private prison company Management and Training Corporation announced they had signed a contract with ICE to open an immigration detention center at the former Marana state prison facility in 60 days, Pima Resists ICE, or PRICE, an activist group formed in opposition to the detention center hosted a press conference Tuesday. Activists and elected leaders spoke of MTC’s fraught history in the state, including new allegations that they omitted sexual abuse allegations on a federal audit.
