Arizona lawmakers have approved legislation aimed at prohibiting the use of Sharia law and related practices that conflict with state law, including forced marriage, honor killings and female genital mutilation. The proposal passed on party-line votes and now heads to Gov. Katie Hobbs, while critics argue the measure is unnecessary because the prohibited acts are already illegal.
