The Rock Bottom Remainders, an oldies rock cover band whose members are best-selling authors, kick off the Tucson Festival of Books with a concert that replaces the Authors Table dinner this year. A handful of tickets for the concert are still available. (Go to tucsonfestivalofbooks.org for more information.)
Best-selling authors Amy Tan, Mitch Albom, Dave Barry, Sam Barry, Scott Turow, Ridley Pearson, Alan Zweibel and Greg Iles, and couple of ringer musicians, including drummer Josh Kelly and Albom’s singer/actress wife, Janine Sabino Albom, will give a 90-minute show in the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center ballroom. The authors will also be presenting during the festival, set March 14-15 on the University of Arizona campus.
Most of the presentations are in venues for which free online tickets will be available in advance. (See related item on how and when to get the online tickets.)
