Rialto Theatre has a busy Friday night on March 10, hosting three concerts of three vastly different genres of music at three venues.
- The San Diego reggae band Tribal Seeds brings its Winter Roots Tour 2017 to the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St., for an 8 p.m. show. This is a band known for infusing some rock energy into its spiritually driven, rootsy reggae. California indie rockers Aloha Radio open the show. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 day of show.
- Hip-hop duo Blackalicious brings an older, wiser version of themselves to Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St., for an 8 p.m. show. The pair — Gift of Gab and DJ Chief Xcel — have been pontificating in tongue-twisting, multisyllabic, complex rhymes since forming in the early 1990s. Their latest album, which the pair say showcases a more mature approach, was released in 2015. This is a 21-and-older show and tickets are $15.
- Finally, Brooklyn indie rockers The Drums share the 191 Toole stage, 191 E. Toole Ave., with DIY rocker Jay Som, aka 22-year-old Bay Area singer-songwriter Melina Dutert. The all-ages show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
