Arizona raised filmmaker Barni Qaasim will premiere "Catching Babies," a feature length documentary film about midwives and natural birth. The screening will take place at 6:30 tonight at the UA College of Public Health, Drachman Hall, room a114. The screening is free and open to the public.
Catching Babies tells the story of midwives, students and mothers as they share personal experiences. The movie follows the stories of four young women as they study and discover the art of midwifery at Maternidad La Luz School and Clinic in El Paso, Texas.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion.
