A 26-year-old man faces aggravated robbery in connection with the theft of about $2,000 worth of purses from an Oro Valley clothing store, police said.
Jacob Choate was arrested Thursday by Tucson Police Department officers in connection to another incident. Authorities contacted Oro Valley investigators and Choate is facing aggravated robbery in connection to the theft of the purses from Marshalls, said Lt. Kara Riley, a spokeswoman for the Oro Valley Police Department.
Choate was booked into the Pima County jail.
On Jan. 15 at about 10 a.m., Oro Valley police responded to a strong-arm robbery at Marshalls in the Plaza Escondida Shopping Center, 7900 N. Oracle Road. The shopping center is located south of West Magee Road.
Investigators determined that two men entered the clothing store and took eight Michael Kors purses, Riley said.

Security personnel approached one of the men who then punched a security employee in the neck, said Riley. Both men left the store and were not found during a search of the area.
During the investigation, Oro Valley detectives identified Choate as one of the suspects in the case. Â Â
