The 33rd annual Tucson Greek Festival, a four-day gala run by the St. Demetrios Hellenic Center, lets thousands of Tucsonans taste traditional Greek foods and experience Greek culture.
The festival started as an event for parishioners but expanded as friends and family began attending. Today it's a way to display the Greek culture and highlight the Eastern Orthodox religion.
Greek fare like gyros, spanakopita (spinach pie), lamb dishes, baked chicken, dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves) and souvlaki (shish kebabs) will be available.
Entertainment will include live Greek music and folk-dancing.
St. Demetrios Orthodox Church is at 1145 E. Fort Lowell Road. The festival continues 4-11 p.m. today and from noon-6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Cost is $3 for adults, free for children under 12 and military personnel with ID.
