The Tucson Javelinas began working out at Reid Park in preparation for their Arizona Fall League debut. On Oct. 2, 1992, Ray McDavid took a swing during batting practice. In 1994, the league announced plans to move the baseball team to the Phoenix area for financial reasons. At that time, the Javelinas averaged about 300 fans a game. The league-wide average was about 250.
