When two robbers in Sierra Vista realized they had broken into the wrong apartment Saturday night, they apologized to the residents for pistol whipping and threatening to shoot them.
However, remorse didn’t stop the pair of thieves from stealing the victims’ flat screen television on their way out the door.
The two masked men broke into a unit at Sierra Pines Apartments about 8 p.m. and ordered the three residents to the floor, Cpl. Scott Borgstadt, a spokesman for the Sierra Vista Police Department, said in a news release. Two victims reported being smacked in the head with a pistol. The third victim said one of the men put a gun to her forehead. The masked men demanded drugs and money before realizing they were in the wrong apartment.
While detectives were at the apartment complex investigating, a 911 call came in about an attempted burglary at Sierra Charles Apartments, 600 Charles Drive. Officers and detectives investigating the second incident found two suspects at a third apartment complex.

Investigators also found the flat screen television from the first robbery in a vehicle belonging to one of the suspects, Borgstadt said.
Marcell Lamont Ratliff Jr., 21, and Joseph Anthony Meriwether, 24, both of Sierra Vista, were booked into the Cochise County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, kidnapping, armed robbery, burglary and attempted burglary.
