If you love classical piano, you won’t want to miss a free concert by Sangjoon Park, who is enrolled in the doctoral program in piano performance at the University of Arizona School of Music.
At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday Park will play a recital at Academy Village, in the Arizona Senior Academy Building, 13715 E. Langtry Lane. It is free and open to the public but reservations are recommended; email info@arizonasenioracademy.org or call 647-0980.
Born 32 years ago in Jeonju, South Korea, Park began his piano studies at the age of 8.
During his undergraduate years at Sangmyung University in Seoul, he gave many solo recitals, performed with choirs and chamber groups, and won a concerto competition.
Moving to the United States in 2006, Park completed a master of music degree at Indiana University and entered the UA in 2009. He is a teaching assistant in class piano.
