An "unruly" passenger aboard an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Austin prompted an emergency landing in Tucson on Saturday morning, Tucson International Airport officials said.
The plane landed in Tucson around 7:30 a.m., and a male passenger who appeared to be intoxicated was removed by airport police, said Karen Garmon, a Tucson Airport Authority spokeswoman.
The plane resumed its journey.
The man is believed to be Samuel Sharbrough, although the spelling of his name could not be confirmed. He was charged with disorderly conduct due to interference with the flight crew, said Viki Matthews, a TAA administrator.
