Bus service in Tucson will not be interrupted through at least Wednesday officials negotiating a new contract say.
Sun Tran officials and representatives from Teamsters Local 104 announced the extension Friday afternoon, hours before a strike was to take effect at midnight.
The current contract is extended until midnight Wednesday as contract negotiations continue.
Buses will run on their usual schedule.
Sun Tran has provided the Union with a final offer, which the Teamsters membership will vote on during three meetings held Saturday.
