Thursday's high of 59 degrees at Tucson International Airport set a record for the lowest maximum temperature on that day, according to the National Weather Service.
The previous low maximum of 60 was set in 1991.
Today's highs are expected to be in the mid- to upper 60s, part of a warming trend that will bring temperatures back into the 80s by as early as Saturday.
Saturday's highs in the Tucson area are projected to be between 75 and 80, with Sunday expecting highs from 80 to 85.
