Nonprofit seeking used building items
Global Community Communication Alliance, a local nonprofit organization, is seeking salvaged and gently used building materials including doors, windows, lumber and paving materials.
The materials will allow Global Community to provide services to a greater number of needy people through its Personality Integration Rehabilitation Program.
The program rehabilitates troubled youth and young adults through a residency program involving counseling, training in agriculture and animal husbandry, spiritual encouragement and service to others.
Central to these efforts are the gardening and animal husbandry activities residents participate in at Avalon Organic Gardens, Farm and Ranch in Tumacácori.
The program is rounded out through education and job training where participants have an opportunity to complete their high school equivalency, as well as learn skills to allow them to compete in the job market.
All donations are tax-deductible.
To arrange for a pickup call Michael White at 403-6271.
