A $100,000 donation to the PCC Foundation by Wells Fargo will provide free GED testing at the college’s testing center.
The announcement will be made at a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pima Community College Community Campus, 401 N. Bonita Ave. The event will be held in Rooms A108-107.
“Testing fees shouldn’t be a barrier to furthering education or increasing job prospects,” said Mayor Jonathan Rothschild in a news release.
“We know that high school graduates and those with GEDs earn more than non-graduates,” Rothschild said. “I’m very pleased this funding is available to help Tucsonans who are working to help themselves by getting an equivalency diploma — or occupational certification.”
The free testing will be provided at the college’s High School Equivalency Testing Center at the community campus. Free testing will be available until Nov. 30, or until funds run out, states the release.
