City and neighborhood officials stood with community members Monday morning to dedicate the Tucson Police Department's newest substation, at the northeast corner of North Flowing Wells Road and West Miracle Mile.
The Westside Police Service Center, 1310 W. Miracle Mile, has been in the works for the past three years, according to a TPD press release.
The city purchased the 68,000-square-foot building and land for $6.8 million. Construction and renovation of the property took 18 months and cost $17 million.
The center will house detectives and patrol personnel assigned to Operations Division West along with the traffic enforcement section.
