Case dismissed in fatal stabbing
The case against a Tucson man arrested in connection with a stabbing death in late March has been dismissed.
Thomas Warren, 23, was arrested March 25 on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Clinton Myers.
Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of east Pastime Road on March 22 after getting a 911 call from a woman who broke up a fight between two men, one of whom was bleeding heavily. When officers arrived, they found Myers suffering from a severe laceration. He later died at a hospital.
The case against Warren was dismissed March 30 because of insufficient evidence, said Stephanie Coronado, a spokeswoman for the Pima County Attorney's Office. Charges were never filed against Warren, she said.

Girl strikes deal tied to death plot
A Tucson girl suspected of plotting to kill her boyfriend's adoptive parents with his help pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree burglary.
Angela Swink could be placed on probation or receive a prison sentence of between two and 8.75 years when sentenced May 14 by Pima County Superior Court Judge Deborah Bernini.
In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and one count each of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities said the boyfriend, then 14, and Swink, 17, decided to kill the couple and run away together.
The boy was convicted last week in juvenile court. The now-15-year-old boy could be placed on probation or be confined to the Arizona Juvenile Department of Corrections until his 18th birthday.

Arrest made in Tucson slaying
A man wanted in connection with the March slaying of 23-year-old Javier Johansen has been arrested in San Diego.
Zane Grey Williams, 24, was arrested by the U.S. Regional Fugitive Task Force San Diego on Monday, said Sgt. Linda Galindo, a Tucson police spokeswoman. Williams was booked into the San Diego jail while he awaits extradition, Galindo said in a news release.
Tucson police obtained an arrest warrant April 3 for Williams on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Detectives say Williams and Johansen were involved in a fight at a party at an apartment in the 100 block of East Blacklidge Drive on March 23.
Johansen's body was found in the apartment on March 27 after police received a phone call from a person with information about the killing.

Man given life term in deadly invasion
A man convicted of taking part in a home invasion that turned deadly was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison by Pima County Superior Court Judge Richard Fields.
Heulon Brown, 23, will have to serve at least 25 years before becoming eligible for release.
Brown was convicted of 11 of 12 felony charges in an August 2010 home invasion, including felony first-degree murder. Fields ran the sentences on the less serious charges concurrently with the life sentence.
Brown and Michael White, 20, were two of four masked men who stormed into an East 24th Street duplex looking for marijuana, according to evidence presented by Deputy County Attorney Carolyn Nedder.
Gunfire was exchanged between the masked men and one the victims. Two of the victims were struck multiple times and survived, including a 14-year-old boy. Brown and White were struck also, and White died of his injuries.
Brown, Martin Reaves and Ashton Walker were each charged with first-degree murder under the felony murder rule, which says a person can be charged with murder if someone dies during the commission of certain felonies.
Reaves, 22, was acquitted in December. Walker pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison.
Brown apologized to the 14-year-old victim and the boy's mother. He told the boy he's glad he survived and he prays he will someday be forgiven.
