Computer technicians are working to eliminate a virus that infected computers in the Tucson Unified School District.
TUSD's technology services department and Microsoft engineers have been working since Thursday to get rid of the Conficker virus.
The Conficker worm can infect a computer and spread itself to other computers across a network automatically, without human interaction, according to the Microsoft Web site. The worm affected servers and desktop computers across the district.
As of Monday afternoon, about 5,000 computers had not been repaired due to their age.
As a result, the district will have to rebuild those drives over the next several days.

• Disabling social-networking and streaming audiovisual sites.
• Students and staff members have been asked not to use flash drives on any TUSD computer.
