Even in a time of tight budgets, the University of Arizona still is home to some of the top graduate school programs in the country.
The latest U.S. News & World Report ranking of grad schools nationwide, released Wednesday, puts UA's geology program at No. 1 with nine other UA programs achieving Top 10 status.
The College of Science boasts seven Top 10 grad programs in various disciplines. They include speech, language and hearing sciences at No. 5; ecology and evolutionary biology at No. 9; Earth and environmental sciences at No. 7; geochemistry at No. 10; atomic, molecular and optical physics at No. 7 and analytical chemistry at No. 6.
At the UA's Eller College of Management, two graduate programs received high marks: management information systems at No. 5 and the McGuire entrepreneurship program at No. 8.

The UA College of Pharmacy's doctoral program was ranked No. 10 nationally.
U.S. News says it analyzed more than 1,200 graduate programs to come up with this year's rankings. The data was obtained by surveys of administrators and about 15,000 academics and professionals.
