St. Gregory College Preparatory School theater students will perform the Broadway show "Urinetown: The Musical," an uproariously funny story of corporate greed, love and popular revolt.
They'll present the show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Donald R. Nickerson Performing Arts Center, 3231 N. Craycroft Road.
The show is a satirical comedy that makes fun of our most popular social, political and environmental concerns.
In Urinetown, water has become so scarce that the government has banned the use of private toilets. The public toilets are run by a monopoly (Urine Good Company) which charges usurious fees to satisfy this most basic human need, and the penalty for taking one's "business" elsewhere is too horrible to describe.
Hope, the beautiful young daughter of the monopoly's owner, falls in love with everyman Bobby, and together they lead a revolution, only to find there really isn't enough water to go around.
