Cienega High School students and staff got a preview Friday morning of "The Drowsy Chaperone" - the 10th production presented by the school and its first musical.
Cienega's thespians presented the show to the public last Friday and Saturday evening, and it continues at 7 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday.
The production is about a "man in a chair" (played by Tyler Mello) who tells the audience about his favorite vaudeville show, "The Drowsy Chaperone."
The performance includes dancing, musical numbers, complicated love triangles, misunderstandings and lots of laughs.
The cast and crew spent more than three months rehearsing after school and even some Saturdays.
Director Jeff Garmon saw the production on Broadway in 2007 and found it "endearing," he said.
