The intersection of East Fifth Street and North Alvernon Way will be shut down beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21.
The closure is to let road crews rebuild the intersection, including the removal of asphalt, finishing underground conduits, reworking the traffic signals, installing a new road base, top lift paving and utility work, the city says.
The intersection work is expected to be completed over one weekend.
The road is set to reopen at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24.
Traffic navigates the reconstruction project at the intersection of East Fifth Street and North Alvernon Way.
