The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance on March 5 will present the last installment of the 2009-10 Tucson Symphony Orchestra MasterWorks Concert Series at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. and features three selections from legendary composer Ludwig van Beethoven.
TSO musical director and conductor George Hanson will conduct the MasterWorks Chamber Orchestra and TSO Chorus (Bruce Chamberlain, director).
The 8 p.m. concert is preceded by a chat with Hanson at 7 p.m.
The "Beethoven3" performance features "Octet for Winds 2/3" written during the composer's early period, "Grosse Fugue," a dramatic piece known for its difficulty of performance, and "Symphony No. 2," produced during the onset of Beethoven's deafness.
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is at 7575 N. Paseo del Norte.
