Federal officials have closed roads in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument as construction of new border wall segments ramps up along the Arizona-Mexico border.
The Arizona tree-sit protest has just entered its fourth week in the almost-ghost town of Lochiel, where a border wall contractor late last month used heavy machinery to topple three towering cottonwoods.
Three protesters dressed as endangered animals were arrested Monday after entering a restricted border wall construction site in Southern Arizona, authorities say.
