PHOENIX - Phoenix attorney Robert Fannin has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as ambassador to the Dominican Republic.
Fannin is the son of former Arizona governor and Senator Paul Fannin.
He is a partner at the Phoenix law firm of Steptoe and Johnson.
Senator Jon Kyl, who announced the confirmation, said Fannin had "demonstrated great patience, given the fact that he was first nominated back in January."
