Steely Blue-Eyed Woman
Stuart Watkins
O, she had the lips
The smile
The breasts
The hips
but those steely Blue Eyes
They were cold
Make you shiver cold
Asked her for a date
Got a blank stare
An “I don’t care stare”
Empty
No empathy
Almost a glare stare
She had been hurt
Abandoned
Jilted
Abused
Mistreated
And her eyes belied her truth
She just did not care
I left with a “what if”
But I dared not venture
into those Steely Blue Eyes
