Frank Lloyd-Wright was an influential and innovative American architect, designer, writer and educator. Wright played a key role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century, influencing architects worldwide through his works and mentoring. He believed in designing in harmony with humanity and the environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture. Lloyd-Wright also designed interior elements of his buildings (windows, floors, furniture, etc.) and integrated them into these structures. ln 1991 he was recognized by the American lnstitute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time." His works also have a considerable presence here in Arizona, including his architecture school in Scottsdale, Taliesin West.
