Dancing is the only sport that lets you hold your partner in your arms! It’s good for you mentally and physically. It’s exercise that is fun!

We will offer a series of six Arizona Two Step classes starting Thursday, April 11. The Arizona Two Step, also called the Rhythm Two Step, is danced in most of the venues here. It is very utilitarian, our feet are always passing, and we are progressing around the dance floor in the two step. The 101 Beginner’s class will start at 6 p.m., and the 201 Advanced Arizona Two Step will start at 7 p.m. Classes are held in the Rincon room, which was previously the HOA-2 Golf Shop.

We will offer Partner Pattern 101 on Mondays in the Rincon room at 6 p.m., starting on Monday, April 15. Partner Pattern dances are similar to line dancing, except you do the steps with your partner in the Sweetheart position. They are a series of steps that repeat. We start with the simple 10-step, then do different pattern dances, like the Sway, which is 16 steps, then repeat. These are a fun alternative to the two step dances. At 7 p.m., we will offer Partner Pattern 201, a class that includes more intricate dance steps. We ask for a donation of $2.50 per student per class.

I have been teaching dance here in SaddleBrooke for 18 years. We have other couples who assist teaching under our auspices. We all love sharing the joy we have had dancing, with our SaddleBrooke neighbors.

The Partners Western Dance Club has dances scheduled monthly. We have dances with a live Band, Wild Ride, and DJ dances. Wild Ride is the best band in Tucson, in my opinion, and their music is great to dance to, or listen to. We have a great group of dancers, so we have a ground pounding, boot stomping good time!

Don’t miss out on the fun! Grab your Partner, your neighbors, stop sitting on the side lines, get up and Dance! To sign up, send an email to Jane Gromelskui at janewesterndance@aol.com. Please note that our venue sometimes changes.
