Attorney General Kris Mayes will host an Elder Scams Town Hall in SaddleBrooke from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the DesertView Performing Arts Center, located at 3990 S. Clubhouse Drive, on Monday, October 20. This is one in a series of town hall events to hear how scams and fraud affect the older adult community in Arizona and to increase awareness about popular scams like grandparent AI voice-cloning scams and online romance scams.
“I am traveling across our state to hear directly from Arizonans and to make sure seniors know how to protect their hard-earned savings and private financial information from scams, particularly those that take advantage of the proximity of the border when scamming you,” said Attorney General Mayes. “Please join me at our town hall to discuss these elder scams and other pressing issues facing the state.”
Cases of elder fraud are on the rise throughout the country, and Arizona has the highest rate—289 cases per 100,000 seniors.
