A big thank you to the Verde Sputters! They did a great job of making the “Turkey Shoot” a great success on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Their article, in this issue of “SaddleBag Notes,” will provide details and photos of our day. We had fun and a delicious lunch!
Our Holiday play day on December 9 is always festive and fun, accompanied by a delicious lunch. Just what we need to put us in the holiday spirit.
January 2026 begins a new golf year for our league with many planned events. There will also be opportunities to update our knowledge of Golf Genius and the rules of golf.
The Founder’s Cup and luncheon will be held on Wednesday, January 14. A Golf Genius Training session is set for Tuesday, January 20. State Medallion play begins Wednesday, January 21. And if that is not enough, Thursday, January 22 is the AGA Rules Seminar. Details of these events will be forthcoming.
“May the Course be with You” is the theme for our 2026 Invitational. Play day is Tuesday, March 31. This semi-annual event is chaired by Susan Lucci. Details are well underway and we know it will be an out-of-this-world experience.
We would like to end this year by giving thanks and recognizing fellow Niners. We have had a great and busy 2025. When we say ‘it takes a village’ – it does! The Executive Board of LeAnn Ellingson, Karla Kincaid, Mary Jo Swartzberg, Carolyn Ford, Terri Tindal, Regina Pang and Char Crossman, made sure that everything was on track for us. The Committee Chairs all did their extra-special magic to ensure things went smoothly… Pat Stead, Susan Lucci, Theresa Mares, Char Crossman, Karla Kincaid, Maria Byers, Kathy DeMerritt, Sue Schlipepsiek, Sharon Marchione, Kathy Coffman, Dian Kupper and Regina Pang. And those Special Event Chairs did a smashing job: Sue Schilepsiek, Susan Lucci and Charlotte James. There are many other Niners that willingly filled in when necessary. Thank you.
