Slow cycling
● David Bell of the Philadelphia Phillies hit for the 265th cycle in major-league history Monday. To complete the cycle, in his final at-bat Bell hit his first triple since 2002 and the 13th of his 10-year career.
Stats guru Bill Arnold compiled a list of the nine players who hit for the cycle but averaged the fewest triples per year in their careers:
Year Player, Team Career 3B Avg. 3B per year
1945 Bill Salkeld, Pittsburgh 2 .33
