All-time Arizona Cardinals great Larry Fitzgerald is not only sold on new Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love due to the X's and O's.
Fitzgerald told his former Cardinals teammate, Tyrann Mathieu, that he has gotten to know Love, who played at Notre Dame, via his son's recruitment. Devin Fitzgerald is signed to Notre Dame's football program as an incoming freshman.
"I've actually got a chance to spend a couple times with him through this recruitment process over the last two years," Fitzgerald explained on the "In The Bayou With Tyrann Mathieu" podcast. "I got out to Notre Dame quite a few times. I talked to the team up there. Been around and engaged with him a lot. I really, really like the young man."
Fitzgerald compared Love's "football integrity that he has when he's met with very difficult situations" to Mathieu's when the two played together.

Love, the Cardinals' No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, was a Heisman finalist after the 2025 season, as well as a consensus All-American.
"How he's treated my son, too," Fitzgerald added. "I mean, this dude finished as a finalist in the Heisman, and he's calling my son on a random Tuesday. 'Hey, how's workouts going? What's going on up there?'
"He don't have to do that. There's a million things he could be doing. That's not one of them. So it shows you, he can speak to a freshman that ain't done nothing, but he just loves to be involved with the program. ... He's got transcending talent, and he's made of the right things."
