Salsa competition to heat up Reid Park on Nov. 10
The 2007 My Nana's Salsa Challenge will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Reid Park's DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center.
Contestants compete in one of three categories: individual ($35 registration fee), business and restaurant ($100 fee), with hot and mild categories in each. The grand prize is a trip to Disneyland.
The event, which will include a children's fun zone and music by Double Top, Champagne Tap and Jadi Norris, is a fundraiser for the Arizona Hemophilia Association. Tickets are $8. Visit tucson.salsachallenge.com.
Native Seeds/SEARCH benefit dinner at Janos
Janos, 3770 E. Sunrise Drive, will host its 11th annual Arizona Harvest Dinner on Oct. 9 to support the Native Seeds/SEARCH organization.

Sweet Tomatoes to raise funds for Race for the Cure
Sweet Tomatoes is supporting the 2008 Southern Arizona Race for the Cure by donating 10 percent of its sales on Oct. 4 (the entire day) to the organization.
