Brian Wilson, the singer/songwriter who brought "Pet Sounds" to life for the Beach Boys in 1966, returns to Tucson Friday to perform the album one more time.
Wilson has been touring the world since 2016 to promote the signature album's 50th anniversary. His extended tour takes him all the way through October.
In Tucson, Wilson will be playing Centennial Hall on the University of Arizona campus.
The evening starts at 8 p.m. More information on the Rialto Theatre website.

Break out your 1980s attire and hit Casa Film Bar at Casa Video, 2905 E. Speedway, this Friday to celebrate the Matthew Broderick's feature film, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
The craft beer establishment is looking for a few good Ferris look-a-likes. They also wouldn't mind seeing best friend Cameron and girlfriend Sloane make appearances.
The movie begins at 7 p.m. A costume contest will be held at 9 p.m.
You Sly Dog will be slinging wieners from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The latest in the 'Aliens' franchise hits the big screen this weekend, nearly 40 years after the original 'Alien' scared the bejesus out of people and developed a global following.
"Alien: Covenant" finds the crew of the colony ship Covenant as they make their way to Origae-6 with 2,000 Earthlings ready to inhabit the new world.
As is tradition, aliens will eventually wreak havoc on the ship, its crew and its passengers. The film comes out Friday.

You have your choice of two stand-up comedians to work out your ha-has with downtown this Saturday.
Blue Collar comedian Bill Engvall will be holding court for two shows (7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.) at the Fox Tucson Theatre, 17 W. Congress St., while Michael Ian Black will be visiting with his "Shut Up & Comedy" tour at 191 Toole, 191 E. Toole Ave at 8 p.m.
The comedians practice different deliveries. YouTube their names, then figure out which you'd like to see.

The good folks behind Tales from the Trash, an exhibition and sale of tacky art picked up at garage sales and thrift stores, will be holding a showing in Bisbee, at the Central School Project, 43 Howell Ave., this Saturday.
The show, running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., is an interesting, visual experience, even if you don't buy anything.

Explore a new (to you) type of cultural dance music at the Desert Diamond's waila celebration this Saturday.
Waila is a traditional dance music of the Tohono O'odham people, a variation of norteño music from Mexico, with European polka influences.
Gertie and the T.O. Boyz., Carl & Buddies, The Joaquin Brothers and T.O. Pride are all slated to play.
The celebration runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
Desert Diamond is at 1100 W. Pima Mine Road in Sahuarita.

Sixteen Southern Arizona wineries will be pouring their best bottles as part of the Willcox Winery this Saturday and Sunday.
The event is held once a year at Railroad Park in historic downtown Willcox. There will also be gourmet food and live music.
Among the wineries participating: Carlson Creek, Kief-Joshua, Keeling Schaefer and Coronado Vineyards.

A festival supporting several local schools and the youth mariachi group Los Changuitos Feos will take place along South 12th Ave., between West Ajo Way and West Veterans Blvd this Saturday and Sunday.
The event, dubbed the 12th Avenue Music & Food Festival, will feature carnival rides, food ranging from elote to fry bread, and live music. The schedule is as follows (according to the Facebook event page):
