A former TUSD teacher was sentenced Monday to 21 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography.
Armando Gonzalez, 62, was indicted in August 2006 on charges he was found in possession of more than 100 images of child pornography, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix. He pleaded guilty in July 2008, the release said.
Gonzalez, who spent 32 years as a high school and elementary teacher in Tucson and Bagdad before retiring to Prescott, subscribed to two Web sites in 2002 that offered images of child pornography for download to members who paid a subscription fee, the release said.
Gonzalez was employed by TUSD from February 1986 to August 2005, according to the district’s human resources department.
