FORT HUACHUCA — A soldier at the Fort Huachuca Army installation in southeastern Arizona has been killed in a car crash.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the soldier’s car crossed the median on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande on Friday and hit another car head-on.
Both drivers died at the scene.
The crash also injured the soldier’s passenger, also a Fort Huachuca soldier. That person is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Both soldiers were assigned to a warrior transition unit at the base. Such units help wounded soldiers focus on healing before returning to duty or transitioning to the work force outside the military.
Officials declined to identify the soldiers.
