A 60-year-old man was killed and another man was seriously injured when they were struck by a car while crossing East Speedway late Wednesday night, police said.
The crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. at Speedway and North Woodland Avenue, west of North Craycroft Road, Tucson police said in a news release.
Johnny Rivas and an unidentified 33-year-old man were either in or near an unmarked crosswalk when they were struck by a silver 2016 Subaru Forester headed east on Speedway. The unidentified 44-year-old Subaru driver was not impaired and stayed at the crash scene, the release said.
At the time of the crash, heavy rainfall had flooded the eastbound curb lane and significantly reduced visibility, the release said.
The investigation continues.
