PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey has appointed an attorney who works for the University of Arizona to fill a Pima County Superior Court vacancy.
Janet Calkins Bostwick is a senior compliance consultant for the University of Arizona's Office of Institutional Equity. She previously worked for several private law firms, including her own firm.
Bostwick is a registered independent. She's filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Stephen Villarreal.
Outside of her legal profession, Bostwick has been active in the Tucson music community for many years. She plays oboe and English horn in the Foothills Phil, an orchestra of student and adult musicians.
She graduated with distinction from the University of Arizona College of Law, where she served as editor of the Arizona Law Review. She has a bachelor's of arts in general studies from the UA.
