Divers were set to begin a search this morning for a teen who likely drowned at Rose Canyon Lake on Mount Lemmon Tuesday evening.
A 19-year-old man went underwater while swimming in the lake with friends about 5:30 p.m., said Deputy Tom Peine, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
Deputies looked for the man Tuesday night, but couldn't find him in the murky water. Divers were to search the lake beginning about 9 a.m. today.
Friends told deputies they were swimming when the teen ventured into deep water and began to drown, Peine said.
They were unable to reach him before he slipped underwater.
