The Cholla Foundation donated $40,296 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson following another successful golf outing.
The foundation has since 2013 donated $138,796 to the clubs, according to a news release from the foundation.
This year’s event began with an 18-hole scramble at Arizona National on Feb. 17. It was followed by four more days of golf at the La Paloma, Arizona National and Ventana Canyon courses and a final 18 holes at Arizona National.
Many of the players were from South Dakota, the home state of the local tournament’s chairman. The golfers traveled to the Tucson area at their own expense to participate in the fundraiser.
The foundation organizes a golf event every year to raise money for nonprofits that help children.
In addition to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson, the Cholla Foundation supports a variety of organizations, primarily in South Dakota.
