A week of golf resulted in a sizable donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson.
The Cholla Foundation raised about $40,000 for the location organization with a golf outing at Arizona National with about 100 participants. That was followed by a five-day tournament of golf involving 32 players at Tucson area golf courses.
Most of the money to the club was raised at the Feb. 18 event, coming from entry fees, raffle ticket sales and a silent auction, organizers said.
In addition to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson, the Cholla Foundation supports a variety of organizations, primarily in South Dakota, the home state of the charity’s founder.
It began a few years ago as a small group of friends and business associates gathering for golf here and has grown into a charitable organization.
