Officers stand by a Continental Airlines 707 in El Paso. Coolidge resident Leon Bearden and his 16-year-old son, Cody Leon Bearden, were accused of hijacking the plane and trying to use it to get to Cuba. Leon's wife, Mary Ruth Bearden, said she knew nothing of the plot but stood by her husband. "We've stuck together through trouble before, and whatever Leon has done I'll try to help him in every way I can," she told reporters. "But I don't know why he talked Cody into this."
